Wild Ways Acres of Hope Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rooted in the hills of McDowell County, North Carolina. We believe God placed us here to tend and keep His creation (Genesis 2:15) and to welcome the stranger as if we were welcoming Him (Matthew 25:35-40).

Our mission: Every brother or sister who comes to us gets a hand up, not a hand out—transitional housing, the skills to grow food and raise animals, and the chance to build something lasting through their own work. This is faith in action, rooted in dignity and purpose.

Here in the Blue Ridge Mountains, we see the land as part of God's provision for His people. The rich soil, clean water, and mountain air—these are gifts meant to sustain us all. When we restore the land and restore lives together, that's worship in its purest form.

Acquire the Land

We partner with landowners who feel called to be part of this mission. Whether through donation, lease, or gift, every acre we receive is a sacred trust—a place where lives can be rebuilt. Landowners receive full tax benefits as a 501(c)(3) charitable contribution.

Off-grid cabins go up, and residents move in ready to work. Together we learn regenerative farming—growing food, raising animals, and tending the land. This is hands-on discipleship: learning by doing, in community, with purpose.

As residents build their own homes and harvest their crops, they become part of the solution. Forty percent of what they earn goes back into funding the next community—multiplying the impact for more of God's children who need a fresh start.

Frequently Asked Questions

Wild Ways Acres of Hope's 501(c)(3) application is currently pending with the IRS. If our application is approved within 27 months of our incorporation date, your contribution will retroactively qualify as a charitable deduction under federal tax law. We will notify donors of our determination status. We issue receipts for all donations — please consult your tax advisor for current deductibility guidance.

100% of donations go toward our three core priorities: land acquisition, building transitional housing, and wildlife habitat restoration in McDowell County, NC. We are a lean organization with no paid staff at this stage.
